Simple meditation exercises
There are a number of suggestions in The Confidence Book and in my book The Creative Path for how to use visualisation and simple meditation, and also on how to relax yourself into these states by:
Once you're in your relaxed state, what are you going to do there? You could try this:
Think about the pictures and photographs that you have around you at home, or at work or in your wallet. Choose one that you particularly like and meditate on its qualities. Why does it speak to you, why does it make you 'feel good'. If it had a voice what would it say to you? Can you take its 'message', its positive essence and use this to boost your confidence?
Or try this:
Don’t let the negative rule; find good positive memories to counteract any bad and negative thoughts that you carry around with you, and have them always available to draw on when needed. We all have a tendency to give the negative more credence than it deserves; two people praised your last piece of work but included some suggestions for changes. Do you concentrate more on the suggestions, subtly changing them from suggestions to criticisms and then to complaints? Keep the positive comments in mind too and work on getting a balanced memory of the event. This is even more important when dealing with long established memories that we have encrusted over the years with an undue negativity. Take them out and give them a clean up with the magic ingredient ‘balance’ don’t just accept what they’ve become.
